How NFL Stat Battle Stats Work
Understand source-exact stats, derived rows, no-games players, freshness labels, and fair same-position NFL comparisons.
Source-exact stats
Source-exact stats are displayed from cached source values using the same meaning as the source field. For example, quarterback passing touchdowns stay separate from rushing touchdowns unless a lower section clearly labels a derived total.
Derived stats
Derived stats are calculated only when the underlying source-backed fields exist and the row is labeled as computed or derived. Derived rows are useful for comparison, but they are not presented as official source fields.
No-game players
Rookies and rostered players with no recorded NFL game stats can still appear with zero-filled no-games messaging. That keeps comparison pages stable without pretending that a live stat source reported production.
